Man hacked to death by brother in family dispute in Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar, Nov 25: In a shocking incident, a 29-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death by his younger brother during a heated argument at Jangapada village under Lakhanpur Police limits in Jharsuguda district on Sunday night.
The deceased, identified as Sunil Munda, reportedly had a verbal altercation with his younger brother, Sushil Munda, over a personal dispute. The argument took a violent turn when Sushil, in a fit of rage, attacked Sunil with an axe.
Severely injured, Sunil was rushed to the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) and later referred to the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla for advanced treatment. Despite medical efforts, Sunil succumbed to his injuries.
On Monday, Lakhanpur Police, accompanied by a scientific team, reached the scene and initiated an investigation. Acting on a complaint filed by Sunil’s father, police arrested Sushil and registered a murder case. The incident has left the local community in shock.
