Violence erupts over land dispute as Ganjam man allegedly kills brother
Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: In a tragic incident on Wednesday, a man was allegedly killed by his younger brother over a land dispute in Samei Guda village under the Aska police limits in Ganjam district, Odisha. The victim, identified as Raju Patra, had been engaged in a longstanding feud with his younger brother, Bhobini, over the division of their ancestral land.
Reports indicate that tensions escalated when Bhobini allegedly attempted to poison Raju's wife, intensifying the dispute. When Raju confronted his brother over the act, a violent altercation ensued. In the midst of the confrontation, Bhobini, accompanied by his wife and son Papun, allegedly attacked Raju with a sharp weapon, leading to his death on the spot.
Aska police have launched an investigation into the case, with officers collecting evidence and statements from witnesses. This tragic incident highlights the severe consequences of unresolved familial disputes, with authorities urging communities to seek peaceful resolutions.
