Odisha’s Visually Impaired Chess Team Shines at AICFB National Championship with Dominant Victory
Ahmedabad : Odisha’s visually impaired chess team has made an exceptional start at the All India Chess Federation for the Blind (AICFB) National Chess Championship, sweeping Madhya Pradesh 4-0 in the first round. The championship, held in Ahmedabad from November 8 to 10, 2024, brings together the best players from across the country, and Odisha’s team is proving to be a strong contender.
Representing Odisha are five talented players: international achievers Soundarya Kumar Pradhan and Prachurya Kumar Pradhan, along with Subhendu Kumar Patra, Prachi Pragnya Sahu, and Sudhir Kumar Nayak. Each has shown skill and resilience, reflecting Odisha’s growing presence in blind chess under the guidance of the Para Sports Association of Odisha (PSAO). PSAO has expressed confidence in the team and looks forward to continued success.
In their opening match against Madhya Pradesh, the Odisha team showcased excellent teamwork and individual skill:

• Board 3: Prachurya Kumar Pradhan triumphed over Prakash Patel
