Monsoon to leave Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The weather is favorable for the retreat of southwest monsoon. The regional weather center has predicted that it will return from some parts of Odisha within 2 days.
Monsoon will return completely from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. Similarly, monsoon will depart from some other areas of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and some areas of Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim. Puja is likely to have cloudy skies with light rain. Thunderstorm, lightning and light rain may occur at one or two places in some districts.
The impact of rain in the state is not significant for the next 6 to 7 days. Meteorologist Umashkar Das said that the monsoon is weak. The sky remains cloudless and the temperature rises. Some places have recorded temperatures up to 2 to 3 degrees above normal. Water vapor-laden air is entering the state under the influence of an active depression over the Bay of Bengal. Light rain may occur in North Interior and South Odisha districts for the next 5 to 6 days.
