Traffic advisory issued for Durga Puja in Bhubaneswar, heavy vehicles banned

Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: The Commissionerate Police has issued a traffic advisory for Durga Puja celebrations in Bhubaneswar, effective from October 9 to October 13, aimed at ensuring public safety and convenience. Heavy vehicles are banned from city routes during this period, and violations will result in fines. The advisory will be enforced daily from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
Traffic regulations will affect several key routes, including Khandagiri to Pokhariput, CRP to Power House, Jayadev Vihar to Raj Bhawan, and Vani Vihar to Sishu Bhawan, among others. Heavy vehicles from Khurda will be diverted from Pitapalli to Balikuda via Chandaka and Baranga, and traffic from Cuttack on NH-16 will be rerouted during Ravan Podi.
Passenger buses from Puri to Bhubaneswar will follow the Lingipur to Baramunda route, while buses from Cuttack to Puri will use the NH Bypass. Emergency vehicles are exempt from the restrictions. The public is urged to plan accordingly for smoother travel.
