VIMSAR student groups clash during annual function, three house surgeons injured

Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: Three individuals sustained injuries in a violent clash between two student groups at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla late Sunday night. While the exact cause of the altercation remains unclear, it was reported that the incident involved house surgeons and postgraduate students attacking one another during the annual function of the Undergraduate Students' Association, fueled by some prior enmity.
Despite discussions between VIMSAR authorities and the police with both groups continuing into the night, no amicable resolution was reached. The injured house surgeons have filed a written complaint with the police and have threatened to cease work if those responsible for the attack are not held accountable.
VIMSAR Director Bhabagrahi Rath confirmed that the clash erupted during an ongoing function, leading to injuries among three students. He noted that authorities arrived quickly to manage the situation, assuring that everything is now under control.
