CM Majhi champions Odisha’s economic diversification at investor summit

Bhubaneswar, Oct 3: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday extended a warm welcome to the invitees at the investors’ meet ahead of the state’s flagship investment event, ‘Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025,’ which is set to take place on January 28-29 in Bhubaneswar.
Addressing the gathering of potential investors, foreign ambassadors, industry leaders, and senior officials, Majhi highlighted Odisha's long-standing role as a gateway between India and the world. "With over 480 km of coastline, Odisha has been a hub of maritime activity for centuries. Our ancestors established trade routes that connected us with Southeast Asia, East Asia, Europe, and the Middle East," he said.
Majhi further emphasized the state's continued global engagement, noting that Odisha is now emerging as a key destination for investments across various sectors. He spoke of Bhubaneswar’s transformation into a hub for technology, innovation, and culture, while still preserving its identity as the "Temple City of India."
The Chief Minister also underscored Odisha’s abundant natural resources, including minerals like iron ore, bauxite, and coal, as well as its skilled workforce and strong infrastructure. He stressed the state’s shift from being heavily reliant on minerals to diversifying into new, rapidly growing sectors.
