Girl student found dead in Ganjam hostel, family alleges foul play

Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: Police recovered the body of a girl student from her hostel room in Ganjam, Odisha, on Friday. While hostel authorities claim that the student committed suicide, her family has raised suspicions of foul play.
The deceased, identified as 19-year-old Rituparna Das, was a second-year DPharma student at Roland College of Pharmacy, residing at the Roland Pharmacy College Hostel in Khadasingh. She was originally from Krishna Prasad in Puri district.
Reports suggest that the hostel warden informed Rituparna's family, stating that she was unwell. However, when her family arrived at the hostel in the morning, they discovered her body hanging from the ceiling fan in her room.
Rituparna's family claims to have spoken with her on Thursday night, and she appeared to be fine at the time. Alleging that she may have been murdered, the family has called for a thorough investigation into her death.
