14 fishermen stranded near Paradip as two boats face technical glitches

Bhubaneswar, Sept 26: Fourteen fishermen from Odisha found themselves stranded in the rough sea near the Mahanadi river mouth in Paradip after their two fishing boats, Dharmashakha-2 and Dharmashakha-3, encountered technical issues on Thursday.
According to reports, Dharmashakha-2 broke down near the Nehru Bangla shoreline while returning from deep-sea fishing. Responding to a distress call, Dharmashakha-3 arrived to assist and attempted to tow the boat to safety. However, the towing rope snapped and got entangled in the propeller, further complicating the situation.
Coast Guard and Marine Police personnel were immediately dispatched to rescue the 14 fishermen and tow the boats. However, their efforts were hindered by heavy rains and turbulent sea conditions. Rescue operations continue, with authorities closely monitoring the situation to ensure the fishermen's safe return.
