Two sons suspected of murdering mother in Cuttack, police probe underway

Bhubaneswar, Sept 14: In a shocking incident on Saturday, a mother was murdered by her two sons in Mahanadi Vihar, Cuttack. The accused, Anurag Mohanty and Anshuman Mohanty, are suspected to be mentally unstable.

Sources indicate that the sons attacked their mother, Anima Mohanty, with a sharp weapon, killing her instantly in the early hours of the day. Neighbors, alarmed by her screams, alerted the police.

One of the brothers has been arrested, while the other remains at large. Although the exact motive is unclear, it is believed that the brothers' mental health issues played a role in the crime.

The family had been living in plot no. 714 for years, with Anima caring for her sons due to their mental condition. Recently, however, their behavior had become increasingly erratic, culminating in this tragic incident.

Police are investigating the case from multiple angles to uncover the precise circumstances surrounding the murder.
