Bodies of two men recovered after jumping into Mahanadi River

Bhubaneswar, Sept 4: Fire Services personnel recovered the body of a man from the Jagatpur-Kendrapara canal in Cuttack on Wednesday morning. He had jumped into the Mahanadi River on Tuesday night.
According to reports, two people jumped into the Mahanadi River on Tuesday. One jumped from the Madhusudan Setu late that night, while the other jumped from the Jobra Bridge on Tuesday morning.
The victim who jumped from Jobra Bridge has been identified as Anup Agrawal, 51, a resident of the Nayasadak area in Cuttack. Police had earlier found his scooter and sandals on the bridge.
Fire Services personnel recovered Agrawal's body from the Jagatpur-Kendrapara canal this morning, and a search operation is ongoing to locate the second victim.
In the other incident, the body of the person who jumped from Madhusudan Setu has been identified as Mrutyunjay Manik, a resident of the Mancheswar area in Bhubaneswar.
Upon being alerted by locals, Fire Services and ODRAF teams initiated a search operation. However, the swollen state of the Mahanadi River posed challenges for the rescue efforts.
