Vigilance officials unveil property worth crores in raid on Odisha mining official

Bhubaneswar, Sept 2: Odisha Vigilance officials conducted coordinated searches at eight locations linked to Dharanidhar Nayak, Deputy Director of Mines (DDM) in Talcher, Angul district, following allegations of disproportionate assets.
According to an official communiqué from Odisha Vigilance, the operation involves 10 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 16 Inspectors, seven Sub-Inspectors/Assistant Sub-Inspectors (SI/ASIs), and other support staff. The searches are being executed under warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul.
So far, the searches have revealed the following assets:
A 3-BHK flat on the 2nd floor of Surekha Orchid, Sisu Vihar, Patia, Bhubaneswar, valued at approximately Rs 1.30 crore.
A duplex of 1800 sq ft at Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
A double-storied market complex with 15 shops (9 on the ground floor and 6 on the first floor) at Badinali Sinkulabahal, Jagmohanpur, Telkoi, Keonjhar.
Another market complex with four shops adjacent to the first complex at Jagmohanpur, Telkoi, Keonjhar.
A double-storied building under construction near the market complex at Badinali Sinkulabahal, Jagmohanpur, Telkoi, Keonjhar.
A building in Chhamunda, Telkoi, Keonjhar.
Nine plots, including two in prime areas of Bhubaneswar and seven in Telkoi, Keonjhar.
Cash amounting to Rs 9,83,800.
A loan of Rs 75 lakh taken in 2022, repaid within two years from suspected ill-gotten money.
Bank, insurance, and postal deposits, as well as other investments, are being assessed.
