Vigilance arrests CHSE record supplier in disproportionate assets case

Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Purendra Kumar Sethy, a record supplier for the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), after discovering disproportionate assets worth lakhs of rupees during simultaneous house searches.
According to a press release issued by Odisha Vigilance, Sethy was arrested following searches of properties linked to him. During these searches, authorities uncovered disproportionate assets including a multistoried building measuring 10,880 square feet in Bhubaneswar, deposits amounting to Rs 16.77 lakh, cash worth Rs 1.70 lakh, two four-wheelers, and other assets for which he could not provide satisfactory explanations. Additionally, 16 benami RORs (land pattas for different plots) were recovered and are currently under verification.
Sethy is scheduled to be presented in court today. A case has been registered at the Vigilance Cell police station, and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
