Gold deposits discovered in Odisha’s Deogarh district
Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: Gold deposits have been discovered in the Adasa-Ramapalli area of Deogarh district in Odisha, according to Odisha Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena. The minister shared this information on Thursday during the Question Hour of the second phase of the Budget session in the Odisha Assembly, responding to a query from Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati.
Minister Jena revealed that the Geological Survey of India (GSI) uncovered the gold deposits while conducting explorations in the region for copper. “Based on geological data, there is confirmed gold presence in the Adasa-Ramapalli area. Preparations are now underway to auction this mineral block,” Jena stated.
This discovery could have significant implications for the state's mining sector and economy, potentially attracting interest from both national and international mining companies. The Odisha government is expected to expedite the auction process to capitalize on this valuable resource.
