Odisha to experience heavy rains until August 21, says IMD

Bhubaneswar, Aug 17: Under the impact of low pressure over the north Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of the Bangladesh-West Bengal coasts, Odisha is expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall until August 21, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.
According to the latest weather bulletin, heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is likely at one or two places in the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar on August 18.
On August 19, heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is likely at one or two places in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda. Similarly, the IMD has predicted heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) at one or two places in the districts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bargarh on August 20.
For August 21, the IMD forecasts heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) at one or two places in the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Bargarh.
Based on the IMD prediction, light to moderate rain with thundershowers is very likely to occur at a few places in the districts of North Odisha and at one or two places in the districts of South Odisha on August 22, 23, and 24.
