Six new railway projects approved for Odisha: CM Majhi expresses gratitude

Bhubaneswar, Aug 10: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving six railway projects aimed at boosting the railway sector in Odisha.
In a message posted on his X handle, CM Majhi wrote: “On behalf of the people of Odisha, I extend my thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving six major railway projects to enhance Odisha’s rail infrastructure. These projects will not only strengthen railway facilities but also spur development in aspirational districts and tribal areas of Odisha. Under the double engine government, the needs of 4.5 million Odiyans will be addressed, and the vision of making Odisha a hub of Eastern development will be realized.”
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, has approved eight railway projects with a total estimated cost of approximately Rs. 24,657 crore. Of these, four projects are exclusively in Odisha, while two cover parts of the state.
The four railway line projects in Odisha are: 73.62 km Gunupur-Therubali (new line) in Rayagada district, 116.21 km Junagarh-Nabarangpur in Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts, 82.06 km Badampahar-Kendujhargarh in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts, and 85.60 km Bangriposi-Gorumahisani in Mayurbhanj district.
