Government to approve Ratna Bhandar opening SOPs by Saturday

Bhubaneswar, July 12: The Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) recommended by the high-level committee led by Justice Biswanath Rath for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar (treasure trove) will be made public within a day or two.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan informed the media that the SOPs are currently under scrutiny and will be approved by the government by Saturday.
“The SOPs recommended by the high-level committee are being examined. Various aspects, including the legal angle, are being analyzed. Clarity will come out in a day or two,” Harichandan stated.
Regarding the Adapa Pahandi mishap, Harichandan mentioned that the government initiated primary action on Thursday and further investigation is ongoing. Appropriate action will be taken accordingly.
The Ratna Bhandar committee, headed by Orissa High Court judge Justice Biswanath Rath, has recommended opening the treasure trove on July 14. This proposal has also been approved by the temple management committee.
The 16-member high-level committee on Ratna Bhandar, in its first meeting on July 9, prepared the SOP and proposed July 14 as the date for reopening the treasury.
