Driver arrested for raping three-year-old girl in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, July 2: On Tuesday, Airfield Police arrested Santosh Khuntia, a driver, on charges of raping a three-year-old girl in the state capital. The accused will undergo a medical examination at Capital Hospital before being presented in court.
According to sources, the incident occurred when the victim went to play at Khuntia's house, where he allegedly raped her while intoxicated. The girl's family began a frantic search after she did not return home and later found her at Khuntia's residence. They immediately filed a complaint with Airfield Police.
Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh stated that a special team was formed to apprehend the suspect. Although Khuntia initially fled to Pipili, he was captured within 24 hours. A forensic team has collected all relevant evidence related to the incident. The victim underwent a medical examination and ultrasound at the hospital last night.
