Fake doctor detained at Rourkela Government Hospital

Bhubaneswar, June 27: On Thursday, Raghunathpalli police detained an individual who had been practicing medicine by falsely identifying himself as a doctor at Rourkela Government Hospital.
The person in question, Padmanabhan Mukhi, has only completed Plus II education. Notably, Mukhi was previously arrested in 2019 for similar charges, after posing as a doctor in the Nua Gaon block using fake certificates. Following numerous complaints, he was arrested, brought to court, and subsequently jailed.
After his release, Mukhi resumed his fraudulent activities at Rourkela Government Hospital by presenting forged documents claiming he was Dr. Ramesh Chandra Jha from Jharkhand. His deception was uncovered when he applied for a loan from a private company, leading to police detention and interrogation.
Dr. Ganesh Prasad Das, Superintendent of Rourkela Government Hospital, stated, “Mukhi was hired through an outsourcing company. A show-cause notice has been issued to the agency to explain why they did not verify his documents during the appointment process.”
