Heavy rains bring respite to Bhubaneswar amid humid weather

Bhubaneswar, June 26: Rains swept through Bhubaneswar on Wednesday afternoon, bringing much-needed relief from the intense humidity. The residents welcomed the respite from the scorching heat as rain poured down, cooling the city.
According to the regional Centre of the IMD in Bhubaneswar, lightning and light to moderate rain occurred in the twin city for about an hour, significantly cooling the area. However, heavy rainfall led to waterlogging in various parts of Bhubaneswar.
Rain in Odisha is expected to continue for the next five days due to a cyclonic circulation forming over the Bay of Bengal. The MeT department has forecasted ongoing rain in the state.
From June 26 to June 29, heavy rain is anticipated across Odisha due to the cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department has not yet clarified whether the cyclone will lead to low pressure. This marks the first cyclone since the monsoon season began, bringing continuous rain to Bhubaneswar for the next five days.
In the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of rain and lightning in some areas, particularly in Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, and Rayagada. Additionally, heavy to very heavy rain is likely in Sambalpur and Bargarh.
