Odisha Assembly gears up for oath-taking ceremony with tight security

Bhubaneswar, June 17: Stringent security measures have been implemented at the State Assembly in preparation for the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected MLAs, scheduled for June 18 and June 19.
The election for the Speaker is set to take place on June 20.
In light of these significant events, Odisha Police, including DGP Arun Sarangi, Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda, and other officials, reviewed the security arrangements at the State Assembly on Monday.
"At least 75 senior police personnel and eight platoon forces have been deployed at the Assembly premises to prevent any untoward incidents during the oath-taking ceremony. In addition to police personnel, anti-sabotage and anti-terrorist teams have also been deployed," stated the police commissioner.
"As this will be a short session of the Odisha Assembly, only temporary traffic diversions will be implemented," added Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda.
