Driver dozes off, bus overturns near Begunia; four seriously hurt
Bhubaneswar, June 15: Four passengers sustained critical injuries early Saturday when a bus they were traveling in overturned near Begunia in Khurda district.
The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle after falling asleep while en route from Phulbani to Bhubaneswar. The incident occurred near a petrol pump on the Khurda-Baghmari road.
Local residents rescued the injured, including the driver, and rushed them to Khurda district headquarters hospital. The driver remains in critical condition, while other passengers were discharged after receiving initial medical care.
Begunia police responded to the scene and have initiated an investigation. The accident caused temporary disruption to traffic on the road.
