Bhubaneswar, June 5: Six individuals have been detained by Badamba police in Odisha’s Cuttack district for their involvement in vandalising the Maniabandha police station and throwing stones at the residence of Maniabandha IIC late Tuesday night.

Reports indicate that unidentified miscreants were consuming alcohol, dancing, and causing a disturbance in front of a hotel in Maniabandha on Tuesday night. Upon receiving the information, a police team led by Maniabandha Police IIC Kadambini Parida arrived at the scene and dispersed the miscreants.

However, the miscreants returned later that night, vandalised the Maniabandha police station, and allegedly threw stones at the rented house of IIC Kadambini Parida in Laxmidharpur Sahi, breaking the glass window panes.

Six youths were detained at the Badamba police station on Wednesday morning for interrogation. Ahtagarh SDPO Rabindra Kumar Mallik, along with a police team, has initiated an investigation into the incident.
