Booth level officer dies suddenly while on duty at polling station in Jajpur

Bhubaneswar, June 1: Tragedy struck at a polling station in Binjharpur, Jajpur district, as a Booth Level Officer (BLO) passed away suddenly while on duty on Saturday. Manoranjan Sahoo, a teacher serving as a BLO at booth No 157 in Oleichandanpur, complained of acute cardiac pain and collapsed unconscious.
Despite immediate efforts to assist him, Sahoo was rushed to Binjharpur Community Health Centre (CHC), where medical professionals pronounced him deceased, as confirmed by an official statement.
According to Manoj Kumar Mahalik, a fellow BLO stationed at booth No 156, Sahoo had earlier shown symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and mild chest pain. Promptly, he was transported to the nearby Binjharpur health center, where doctors, after examination, sadly confirmed his passing.
Sahoo, identified as a teacher at Harsinghpur Primary School, had a medical history of diabetes, as disclosed by his family members. Dr. Hrudananda Das from Binjharpur hospital stated that while immediate attention was provided upon Sahoo's arrival, his unfortunate demise necessitates further investigation, pending a post-mortem examination, to determine the precise cause of death.
