Bus accident in Odisha's Balasore: Three injured, dozens narrowly escape

Balasore, May 2: A bus accident in Odisha's Balasore district left three individuals injured, while more than 50 passengers narrowly escaped a major mishap. The incident took place on National Highway number 60 at Barunagadia Chakk under Basta police limits. The bus, identified as Kalianana, was heading towards Digha in West Bengal when it reportedly lost control and collided with an unidentified vehicle. Three passengers sustained injuries, while the majority of the passengers avoided serious harm. Upon receiving reports of the accident, police arrived at the scene, initiating an investigation and promptly transporting the injured to a nearby hospital. Further details regarding the incident are awaited. In a separate incident in Odisha's Khurda district, a motorcycle accident claimed the life of one individual and left another critically injured. The mishap occurred at Sanahantuada Bridge under Banapur police limits. Two individuals, Balram Nayak and Sumanta Nayak, were traveling from Banapur to Pankala village when the accident happened. Balram Nayak tragically lost his life on the spot, while Sumanta Nayak was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Due to the severity of his injuries, Sumanta was later transferred to a hospital in Bhubaneswar for further treatment.
