Amit Shah's Odisha visit: BJP sets stage for intensive poll campaign

Bhubaneswar, April 22: Ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s impending visit to Odisha, the state BJP provided comprehensive details of the senior leader’s itinerary for April 25. State BJP president Manmohan Samal briefed reporters in Bhubaneswar, disclosing that Amit Shah is expected to arrive in Sonepur at 3:30 pm on April 25. Shah will initiate his visit at Jharsuguda and subsequently proceed to Sonepur, where he is slated to address a public gathering.
Preparations are underway for Shah’s public address in Sonepur, aimed at heralding the BJP's campaign in Odisha, where Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are set to occur simultaneously.
Following the public meeting, Amit Shah will head to Bhubaneswar for a crucial meeting with senior BJP functionaries to deliberate on election strategy, as informed by Samal. It is noted that the Home Minister will spend the night in Bhubaneswar, engaging with senior party leaders and various organizational segments as part of the pre-election preparations.
Samal emphasized the significant impact of Shah’s impending visit on the state’s 4.5 crore inhabitants, considering the approaching twin elections. He further highlighted that a series of meetings will ensue Shah’s Odisha trip, with top BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh slated to make several visits to the state. Additionally, apart from Shah, BJP president J P Nadda will also tour Odisha to strengthen the party’s electoral prospects.
