Man from Kandhamal arrested by Kerala Police in connection to girlfriend's stabbing death

Bhubaneswar, April 10: Kerala Police, aided by Kotpad Police, apprehend suspect accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend in Kerala and fleeing to Kotpad hometown in Kandhamal district to evade capture.
The arrested individual, identified as Samuel Bada Majhi, hails from Rangapanga village under Kotpad police jurisdiction, while the victim, Ritika Sahu, belonged to Chanchedi village.
Reportedly, Samuel and Ritika, in a romantic relationship, relocated to Kerala for employment as daily wage laborers. However, tensions arose between them when Samuel grew suspicious of Ritika's phone conversations with an unidentified person.
Allegedly, on April 2, Samuel attacked Ritika with a sharp weapon, leaving her critically injured. Despite the efforts of neighbors to aid her, Ritika succumbed to her wounds during hospitalization.
Samuel fled to his native village post the crime, prompting Ritika's family to lodge a complaint with Kerala authorities. In response, Kerala Police, in coordination with Kotpad Police, arrested Samuel in Kandhamal district.
Subsequently, Kerala Police transported Samuel for further investigation, as the case unfolds across jurisdictions.
