Bhubaneswar, April 8: In Lingipur, under the jurisdiction of Dhauli police limits, a young woman was discovered deceased under suspicious circumstances on Sunday night near Dakhina Kali temple.

Prompted by a tip-off, authorities swiftly secured the body and arranged for post-mortem examination. The deceased, identified as a resident from the Hinjilikatu area of Ganjam district, had been residing in Sishupalgarh, the state capital.

Concurrently, Dhauli police initiated an investigation following the retrieval of the body and its subsequent transfer for post-mortem examination.

Furthermore, police retrieved two motorcycles found adjacent to the body. Using the bike registration numbers, authorities detained the woman's partner for questioning.

According to police sources, the deceased had absconded with her partner four months earlier. It is suspected that the partner, aided by associates, may have been involved in her demise. Allegedly, they were transporting the body on motorcycles to dispose of it when it inadvertently fell off. Fearing apprehension, the group purportedly abandoned the scene, leaving their motorcycles behind.
