Odisha braces for temperature drop and thunderstorms

Bhubaneswar, March 15: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre has forecasted a gradual drop in day temperatures by 3-5°C across Odisha in the next three days, accompanied by a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning and rain. According to the midday bulletin, night temperatures are also anticipated to decrease by 2-3°C in many areas of the state within four days.
Additionally, the weather agency has predicted gusty surface winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph at isolated locations in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Khurda, and Nayagarh. Furthermore, heavy rainfall is expected in Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, and Angul districts on March 19.
While no warnings are issued beyond this date, the Meteorological Office has mentioned the likelihood of light to moderate rain or thundershowers occurring in various parts of the state, including coastal districts.
