State honours for eight-year-old organ donor Subhajit in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, March 4: The final rites of eight-year-old Subhajit, who generously donated his organs following his passing, were conducted with full state honors at the Satya Nagar crematorium in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
Amidst the presence of Police Commissioner Sanjib Panda, Deputy Commissioner of Police Pratik Singh, and his grieving parents, Subhajit was accorded state honors befitting his noble act.
Subhajit Sahu tragically suffered a seizure attack while undergoing an examination at his school last Wednesday. Rushed to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar and later transferred to an ICU in another private hospital, he fought bravely for 72 hours. Though there was a slight improvement initially, his condition deteriorated, and he eventually ceased to function.
In a poignant display of selflessness, Subhajit's parents expressed their desire to raise awareness about organ donation by donating his heart, kidneys, eyes, pancreas, and liver. "Though our son may not return, his organs hold the power to save numerous lives," they affirmed to the media, highlighting the profound impact of his altruistic gesture.
