Zero tolerance towards corruption: Odisha Revenue ACS warns officials after ORS officer’s arrest
Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: Revenue and Disaster Management Additional Chief Secretary Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee has called for zero tolerance towards corruption, urging officers and employees of the department to maintain the highest standards of integrity, transparency and accountability while discharging their public responsibilities.
In a letter addressed to departmental officials, Padhee expressed deep concern over the recent arrest of a young Odisha Revenue Service (ORS) officer by Vigilance authorities on allegations of accepting a bribe. Describing the incident as a serious wake-up call, he urged all personnel to remain vigilant and ensure that such occurrences are not repeated.
He emphasised strict compliance with established rules and procedures, cautioning officials against negligence, misconduct or any compromise in the performance of their duties.
Padhee said government service should not be viewed merely as a means of livelihood but as an opportunity to serve people and address their needs. He also observed that an isolated incident should not define the image or performance of the entire department, expressing confidence in the sincerity and dedication of the majority of its employees.
Calling for mutual respect, cooperation and discipline at all levels, he stressed the need to create a positive and responsible working environment.
The senior official urged employees to work collectively towards building a transparent, dedicated and citizen-centric administration. He said protecting public trust and safeguarding the dignity of the Revenue Department were collective responsibilities, adding that conscience and humanity should guide every official in public service.
