EOW conducts simultaneous raids at two locations in Kendujhar over crusher unit takeover
Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at the residences of Raja Chakra and his associate Sadashiba Samal in Kendujhar town in connection with the alleged forcible takeover of a stone crusher unit at Nunujharan in the district.
Two separate EOW teams launched the searches on Wednesday morning as part of the ongoing investigation into the case. The raids are aimed at gathering evidence related to the alleged illegal possession and financial irregularities surrounding the crusher unit.
According to the allegations, Raja Chakra and Sadashiba Samal had forcibly taken control of the stone crusher unit at Nunujharan after getting it registered in their names without paying the actual owner. The alleged transfer of ownership and subsequent takeover prompted an investigation by the agency.
The EOW had registered a case in connection with the incident. A few days ago, its officials also conducted a search at the crusher unit to collect relevant evidence and examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged takeover.
Wednesday’s searches at the residences of the two accused mark another step in the investigation. Further details regarding the evidence seized and the outcome of the raids are awaited.
