Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has released an extensive list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming Nuapada Assembly constituency by-election, aiming to consolidate voter support and boost the campaign for its candidate, Snehangini Chhuria.

The list prominently features party president Naveen Patnaik, along with 15 sitting MLAs and three Members of Parliament (MPs). Several senior BJD leaders, including Prasanna Acharya, Debi Prasad Mishra, Ranendra Pratap Swain, and Niranjan Pujari, will also spearhead campaign efforts across the constituency.

According to party sources, the star campaigners will visit various regions of Nuapada to interact with voters, highlight the BJD government’s welfare schemes, and emphasize the leadership of Naveen Patnaik. The campaign will focus on local development, women’s empowerment, and rural welfare initiatives — key issues for the electorate.

The move is being viewed as a strategic push by the BJD to retain its influence in western Odisha and strengthen its grassroots connection ahead of the by-poll. The party is expected to launch an intensive door-to-door and public outreach drive in the coming days.
