Man kills wife after domestic dispute, arrested while heading to surrender

Bhubaneswar, July 10: In a shocking incident that has left Hatimara Chak village under Bamebari police limits in Keonjhar district in a state of disbelief, a 23-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband following a domestic quarrel. The tragic event unfolded late on Wednesday night, shedding light once again on the grim reality of domestic violence.
The victim, identified as Kitamai Munda, reportedly got into a heated argument with her husband, Sunil Munda. According to sources, the argument quickly escalated, leading Sunil to lose control and assault Kitamai with a wooden stick. The brutal attack left her critically injured and bleeding profusely.
Shockingly, Sunil did not seek medical help but instead dragged his injured wife inside their house and left her on the floor. She succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.
On Thursday morning, Sunil reportedly decided to surrender and was heading toward the Bamebari police station when he was intercepted by police, who had been tipped off by villagers. He was taken into custody and brought back to the scene.
A scientific team, along with Barbil SDPO Debendra Nath Pingua, reached the location and initiated a detailed investigation.
