Woman allegedly kills husband with lover’s help in Balasore’s Jaleswar block

Bhubaneswar, June 21: In a shocking incident in Odisha’s Balasore district, a woman has been accused of murdering her husband with the help of her alleged lover in Gobarghata gram panchayat under Jaleswar block. The deceased has been identified as Ramakant Ghosh, a local tea stall owner.
The accused have been identified as Jahnavi, Ramakant’s wife, and Manas Ghosh, her alleged paramour. According to reports, Ramakant’s body was found hanging from a rope inside their house on Saturday morning, triggering suspicion among the local residents.
Villagers, suspecting foul play, detained both Jahnavi and Manas and accused them of being involved in Ramakant’s death. They alerted the police and handed over the accused after some resistance. Police personnel from Jaleswar police station reached the spot, rescued Manas from the angry crowd, and took both suspects into custody.
The police have seized the body and sent it for postmortem. An investigation is underway to determine whether the incident was a premeditated murder disguised as suicide. The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents demanding a thorough probe and justice for the deceased.
