Tragic incident in Dhenkanal: Man brutally killed in front of wife
Bhubaneswar, Oct 3: In a horrific incident, unidentified miscreants allegedly stoned a youth to death in Rupabeda village under Kankadahad police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Wednesday evening. The victim has been identified as Gagan Naik, a laborer from Rupabeda.
According to his wife, Gagan was employed at a local stone quarry. On Wednesday evening, while the couple was returning to their village, a group of miscreants intercepted them near a bridge on the village outskirts with the intent to loot.
When Gagan confronted the attackers, they brutally beat him and stoned him to death in front of his wife. The assailants also attacked his wife, but she managed to escape and alert her family.
Gagan was rushed to a hospital in Kamakshyanagar, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Upon receiving the information, Kankadahad police arrived at the hospital, seized Gagan’s body, and registered a case based on his wife’s complaint, who is currently receiving treatment.
