Two arrested in connection with Banka’s murder after 15-day investigation

Bhubaneswar, Aug 6: The Commissionerate Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the high-profile Nabaghan Pattasani, also known as Banka, murder case, 15 days after the incident.

Reports indicate that Banka's body was discovered in a river in Govindpur on July 20. He had been missing since July 17, and his family had filed a written complaint with the Khandagiri police.

Initially, the Govindpur police registered a case of unnatural death and buried the unidentified body. However, on July 30, Banka’s family provided the police with a photograph of the deceased, which confirmed the body's identity. Consequently, the Govindpur police exhumed the body in the presence of Banka’s family members.

Sources reveal that Banka was killed in a hotel room before being disposed of in the waterbody. The police have also seized the car used to transport Banka’s body from the hotel room to the river. The main suspect, Bunti, allegedly killed Banka over a financial dispute. Both Bunti and the car driver have been arrested following a thorough investigation. The suspects will soon be brought on police remand for further interrogation.
