Devotee Cuts Tongue in Religious Act at Keonjhar Tarini Temple

Bhubaneswar, July 17: In a startling incident, a man reportedly severed his own tongue after experiencing a vision of Maa Tarini, according to Wednesday's reports. The devotee carried out this rare act at the renowned Maa Tarini temple in Keonjhar.

Preliminary investigations identified the devotee as Vijay Pradhan from Ganjam district. He is currently hospitalized in critical condition at Ghatgaon Medical Center.

Sources indicate that the incident occurred at the Maa Tarini temple premises in Ghatgaon, Keonjhar district, where Vijay Pradhan used a sharp blade to cut off his tongue during the evening puja ritual. Temple personnel promptly admitted him to Ghatgaon Medical Center for treatment.
