Odisha CM Majhi mourns death of veteran actor Nana Patekar
Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday expressed deep grief over the demise of veteran actor Nana Patekar, describing his death as a great loss to Indian cinema and the arts.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the celebrated actor, recalling his exceptional talent, powerful performances and significant contribution to Indian cinema. He said Patekar had left an indelible mark on generations of audiences through his distinctive acting and memorable roles.
“The demise of veteran actor Nana Patekar Ji is a great loss to Indian cinema. Through his exceptional talent, powerful performances and enduring contribution to the arts, he left an indelible mark on generations of audiences,” Majhi said.
The Chief Minister prayed to Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength and solace to Patekar’s family, friends and countless admirers during this difficult hour.
Nana Patekar, one of the most respected actors in Hindi and Marathi cinema, was known for his intense performances and versatile acting. He earned widespread acclaim for films including Parinda, Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan and Natsamrat.
According to reports, Patekar passed away at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa. His death has triggered an outpouring of condolences from across the film industry and his admirers.
