CM Majhi urges new recruits to serve with integrity at 13th Nijukti Mela-2025
Bhubaneswar, Dec 11: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi addressed the 13th Nijukti Mela-2025 at Krishi Shiksha Sadan, OUAT, today, calling upon newly appointed government officials to treat their jobs as a form of public service. He urged them to uphold honesty, avoid corruption, and carry out their duties with dedication for the greater good of the state.
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several major irrigation projects worth crores, aimed at boosting agricultural infrastructure and benefiting thousands of farmers across Odisha. A total of 591 newly recruited Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) from three engineering departments were handed their appointment letters.
Majhi underlined the government’s strong focus on employment generation, stating that 1.5 lakh vacant posts would be filled within five years. He noted that 37,916 appointments have already been completed in the last 18 months, and an additional 30,000 posts will be filled in the next six months.
The Chief Minister also launched the ambitious ‘Mukhyamantri Adibandha Tiyari Yojana (MATY)’, sanctioned at ₹2,738 crore. The scheme aims to construct 3,000 new check dams and revive 2,000 existing ones, expanding irrigation coverage to 48,000 hectares and strengthening the livelihoods of farmers statewide.
