Team India, South Africa leave Odisha for Chandigarh ahead of high-stakes 2nd T20I
Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: Buoyed by their commanding 101-run victory in the series opener, Team India and the South African squad departed Odisha on Wednesday to prepare for the crucial second T20 International in Chandigarh. The first match, played at the packed Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, saw India dominate with both bat and ball—posting a strong total before dismantling South Africa’s chase to comfortably go 1-0 up in the five-match series.
After the game, players from both sides checked out of their hotels in Bhubaneswar around noon. Security was tightened around the teams as they travelled to Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), where enthusiastic fans gathered to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars.
The squads then boarded their flights to Chandigarh, where the second T20I will be played on Thursday at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. India will aim to carry forward their momentum and tighten their grip on the series, while South Africa will be eager to regroup and bounce back from the heavy defeat.
With the contest finely poised, the upcoming clash promises high energy, intense competition, and a possible shift in series dynamics.
