Manmohan Samal leaves for Delhi to discuss Key BJP strategy

Bhubaneswar, Aug 18: BJP’s Odisha state president Manmohan Samal has left for New Delhi to attend a series of crucial meetings with the central leadership, which are expected to play a decisive role in shaping both the party’s organizational framework and the government’s lineup in the state. His visit comes at a significant juncture, as the party is preparing for major changes in appointments to state committees, boards, and corporations.
According to sources, Samal is scheduled to meet senior leaders in Delhi to deliberate on multiple key issues. The discussions are likely to focus not only on the upcoming Vice-Presidential election but also on internal matters related to the Odisha cabinet reshuffle. With the BJP government under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi completing one year in office, there is growing speculation about a series of new appointments and organizational adjustments.
Currently, six ministerial positions remain vacant in the state cabinet, and many senior party leaders are seen as strong contenders for these posts. Similarly, several aspirants are lobbying for roles in state committees and boards. Party insiders believe that following Samal’s consultations in Delhi, major announcements regarding cabinet expansion and organizational restructuring may be made after August 20.
