Odisha become runners up in Junior National Rugby

Odisha become runners up in Junior National Rugby 

Bhubaneswar: In a nail-biting final match, Odisha suffered defeat from defending champion Bihar by 5-14 and last year runners up Odisha girls won the runners up title again in the Junior National Girls Rugby 7's Championship, which concluded at Uttarakhand on Wednesday.


Earlier in the semifinals, Odisha out played Maharashtra by 34-0. In the quarterfinal, Anita Murmu's hattrick try powered Odisha to defeat Kerala by 32-0.


In the Group-B league round matches, Odisha won over Uttarakhand and Assam by 45-0 and 45-0 respectively. With a double win Odisha became group topper.


Odisha girls team: Girls Team: Ranjulata Naik, Raimani Murmu, Mamali Singh, Barsarani Pradhan, Sandhyarani Biswal, Anita Murmu, Basi Oram, Manisha Malhi, Namita Hembram, Sumitra Murmu, Sonali Marandi, Pama Murmu, Rajkishor Murmu (Coach), Rajani Sabara (Manager), Kumkum (Physio).
