Congress urges Odisha CM to convene special Assembly session on Pahalgam terror attack

Bhubaneswar, April 29: In the wake of the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) Rama Chandra Kadam has written to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, urging him to convene a special session of the State Legislative Assembly.
In his formal letter, Kadam expressed profound grief over the incident, calling it a national tragedy that has “shocked the nation to its core.” He emphasized the need for a unified political response to such acts of violence and proposed the special session as a platform for lawmakers to offer condolences, express solidarity with the bereaved families, and reaffirm Odisha’s commitment to the fight against terrorism.
“In this grave moment, we urge for a special session of the Legislative Assembly be convened at the earliest,” Kadam stated. “It will allow all members to come together beyond party lines and stand with the victims’ families, sending a strong message that terrorism will never break our unity.”
