Prime Minister Modi launches Puri roadshow following Srimandir visit
Bhubaneswar, May 20: On Monday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his roadshow on Badadanda after seeking the blessings of the Holy Trinity at Puri Srimandir.
The Prime Minister arrived in Puri from Bhubaneswar around 7:30 am and proceeded directly to the Jagannath Temple to pay obeisance to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. Following his prayers, he embarked on a roadshow accompanied by Sambit Patra, the BJP Lok Sabha nominee for the Puri constituency, along with the MLA candidates from the Parliamentary seats. The entire area was secured for the event, with sniffer dogs and bomb squads deployed, and the zone declared a ‘no-fly zone’ and sanitized for safety.
Anticipating large crowds of party workers and leaders, temporary barricades were set up along both sides of the Grand Road. A rehearsal of the carcade took place on Sunday, and Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos reviewed the security arrangements for the Prime Minister’s roadshow.
Following the hour-long roadshow, the Prime Minister is scheduled to depart for Angul, where he will address election rallies to garner support for BJP candidates. Modi is set to address an election rally at 9:30 am in Angul stadium, followed by his participation in a Vijay Sankalp rally at Killa Padia in Cuttack.
