Rajnath Singh condemns Channi's statement on Poonch attack in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 8: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took aim at former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for his contentious remarks regarding the recent terrorist assault on an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the loss of an IAF soldier.
Speaking at a public gathering in Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi, Singh criticized, "The Congress has consistently engaged in detrimental politics. Recently, when terrorists targeted our defense forces convoy in Jammu & Kashmir, Congress leader Charanjit Singhji Channi suggested that it was merely a political ploy. Are we to believe our army soldiers are being subjected to orchestrated attacks? What is the intent behind such undermining of national security and dignity?"
He continued, "Previously, terrorist incidents plagued almost every state in the nation. Since our government assumed power, terrorism has significantly declined, save for isolated incidents. This too was an act of terrorism. Although one IAF soldier fell victim to the attack, our defense forces swiftly neutralized the two terrorists through their courage and valor."
It's noteworthy that Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi had previously insinuated that the terrorist attack on the Indian Air Force was a pre-election maneuver orchestrated by the BJP. He accused the BJP of callously toying with the lives and well-being of the populace.
