PM Modi urges Odisha to embrace BJP, aims for statewide lotus bloom
Bhubaneswar, May 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a massive rally in Chikili within the Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency, called upon the people of Odisha to support the BJP, aiming for a victory across all 21 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. Beginning his address with chants of 'Jay Jagannath' in Berhampur, Modi emphasized the potential of a dual governance system, both in Delhi and Odisha, to expedite developmental endeavors within the state.
Expressing confidence in the impending fall of the ruling BJD government in Odisha's upcoming Assembly elections, Modi extended an invitation to the public for the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP's Chief Minister in Bhubaneswar on June 10. Reflecting on past invitations, he hoped for a positive response this time, drawing comparisons to previous declines during the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
Commending the Odisha BJP leadership for unveiling the 'Sankalp Patra' (BJP's manifesto for Odisha), Modi praised its vision for the state's rapid progress, highlighting initiatives such as the 'Subhadra Yojana' aimed at empowering women economically. Promising to establish 'Odia Samudaya Bhawan' in major metro cities for the welfare of Odia residents outside the state, Modi assured immediate implementation of welfare schemes for tribals, farmers, women, and unemployed youth upon BJP's assumption of power.
In criticism of the incumbent Naveen Patnaik government, Modi accused it of hindering the implementation of central schemes while taking undue credit for others. He contrasted the procurement rates for paddy in Odisha with those in BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh, emphasizing the BJP's commitment to increase paddy procurement prices to benefit Odisha farmers once in power.
