BJP unveils MLA candidates for six more Odisha Assembly seats
Bhubaneswar, May 2: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its chosen MLA candidates for an additional six Assembly constituencies in Odisha, ahead of the impending elections.
Among the selections, Purnachandra Mohapatra is set to vie for the Barabati-Cuttack seat, while Prakhash Chandra Ranabijuli will represent Begunia, according to the party's declaration.
Here are the six candidates announced by the BJP:
Ghasipura: Shambhunath Rout
Bhograi: Ashish Patra
Bhandaripokhari: Sudhanshu Nayak
Bari: Umesh Chandra Jena
Barabati-Cuttack: Purnachandra Mohapatra
Begunia: Prakhash Chandra Ranabijuli
The BJP's announcement follows swiftly after BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik revealed the party's candidates for three additional assembly segments: Sabitri Pradhan for Khandapada, Sukant Nayak for Nilagiri, and Sandhya Rani Das for Korei.
Additionally, the ruling party opted for a change in its MLA candidate for the Deogarh assembly constituency, substituting Arundhati Devi with Romancha Ranjan Biswal.
With this latest announcement, the BJD has now finalized candidates for all 147 assembly seats in Odisha for the upcoming election, as well as fielding candidates for all 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
