Political heavyweights Nadda and Rahul Gandhi set to stir Odisha ahead of elections

Bhubaneswar, April 26: On April 28, Odisha is set to witness a flurry of political activity as both the BJP's national President JP Nadda and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are slated to address public gatherings in Berhampur and Rayagada respectively.
Nadda's itinerary includes engaging with BJP workers in Nabarangpur following his public address in Berhampur, as confirmed by former Odisha BJP President Samir Mohanty.
For the BJP, Nadda's visit holds strategic significance as the party intensifies its efforts to strengthen its presence in the state, particularly targeting vulnerable constituencies in preparation for the upcoming General Elections.
Despite concerted efforts, the BJP has yet to establish a dominant foothold in Odisha, facing resistance in breaking the stronghold of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's ruling party.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi's visit underlines the Congress party's concerted efforts to galvanize support in the state. Scheduled to address a public gathering in Rayagada, Gandhi's presence is expected to invigorate party cadres ahead of the impending electoral battles.
In addition to Gandhi's visit, AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is set to rally in the district prior to the May 13 polls for the Koraput parliamentary seat, as confirmed by Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, the incumbent MP and Congress candidate.
Ulaka emphasized a comprehensive election strategy, revealing plans for campaigning by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Bhagel, in addition to the prominent appearances of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi.
