BJP unveils 'chargesheet' against BJD: Alleges 25 years of misrule in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, April 24: The BJP unveiled a 'chargesheet' against the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) during an event in Bhubaneswar, accusing the ruling party of misleading and mistreating the people of Odisha throughout its 25-year tenure. The document highlighted various issues such as labor migration, inadequate welfare initiatives, and a dearth of employment opportunities in the state.
Emblazoned with the tagline 'Kete Dina Au Sahiba, Parivartan Aniba' (How long will we endure, it's time for change), the chargesheet raised poignant questions about the alleged mismanagement by the BJD.
Addressing the audience, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav asserted, "The BJP's participation in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha aims to establish capable governance both at the central and state levels, rectifying the injustices endured by the people of Odisha during the past 25 years under the BJD's governance."
Yadav pointed out, "The BJD's appeal has waned significantly over time, attributed to its lackluster performance in developmental and welfare sectors. Despite promises made by the Odisha government regarding irrigation facilities and farmer support, little has been achieved."
Highlighting the issue of migrant laborers, Yadav lamented, "A growing number of landless laborers from Odisha are migrating to other states, with over 40,000 leaving in the past year alone."
Notable BJD figures, including state unity party president Manmohan Samal and party national vice-president Baijayant Panda, were in attendance during the event.
